Research

The main subject of our research is wide spectrum of single crystal growth by variety of methods as: Czochralski method, TSSG, Floating Zone and Bridgeman method. Moreover, we have synthesised nanocrystals by glycine-nitrate combustion method. We have also, synthesised ceramics at high temperatures by solid state reaction.

Substrate materials

Double tungstates

Manganites and Cobaltites

  • La1-xCaxMnO3, La1-xSrxMnO3, La1-xCaxCoO3,
    La1-xSrxCoO3, LaCaMnCoO6
    grown by Floating Zone method

Orthovanadates

  • Co3V2O8, Ni3V2O8, Mg3V2O8 and their solid solutions were grown by Floating Zone method Kagome staircase orthovanadates M3V2O8 (M=Ni,Co) are very attractive due to their complex magnetic structure involved by geometric frustration.

(BAM) phosphor

  • BaMgAl10O17:Eu grown by Floating Zone method
(BAM) phosphor is being used as a blue component in plasma display panels (PDP’s) due to its color purity as well as its high luminescence efficiency.

BiFeO3

  • BiFeO3 grown by Top Seed Solution (TSSG) method
