  • Energy transfer, charge transfer, radiative and nonradiative recombination processes in bulk, thin film, and nanocrystalline materials,
  • Spin interactions in diluted magnetic semiconductors, multilayer structures, magnetic nanocrystals, and low dimensional semiconductor structures,
  • Growth and characterization of novel materials:
    • atomic layer deposition (ALD) of II-VI wide band gap semiconductors for optoelectronic applications;
    • ALD growth of ZnO for sensors, spintronics and hybrid polymer/semiconductor structures in the framework of European Project VERSATILE and for biosensors in the framework of Project NANOBIOM;
    • MBE growth of (AlGaIn)N structures and ZnO based materials for semiconductor nanostructures and biosensors in the framework of Centre of Advanced Technologies for Opto- and Microelectronics and Project NANOBIOM;
    • MBE growth of GaN/AlGaN on Si substrates carried out within POIG 1.3.1. Project – Innovative Materials for Energy Saving and Pro-ecological Electrical Appliances.
  • Band structure and surface studies with use of photoemission spectroscopy,
  • Energy levels and carrier recombination processes of deep-level defects in semiconductors, insulators, nanostructures and interfaces,
  • Materials for photovoltaics and water fotsplitting.
