Present occupation. Postdoc @ Universität Konstanz (University of Konstanz, Germany). I am working in the group of prof. Ulrich Nowak. We are interested in computer simulations of magnetic systems. Particularly, I am involved in atomistic Monte-Carlo modeling. I am also still working on my previous subject: periodic magnetic structures + micromagnetic modeling. I am interested in one-dimensional periodic or elongated ferromagnetic structures. Like nanotubes, nanowires, or arrays of periodic structures. Especially, the influence of the geometry on the magnetization process is interesting for me.

I was also involved in the past in following subject: ferromagnetic islands or semiconductor film placed close to a quantum well made of a diluted magnetic semiconductor. I observed influence of the magnetic stray field generated by the superconductor / ferromagnetic structures on optical properties of the quantum well. This task was partly theoretical, but mainly experimental – I have grown samples (II-VI compounds in a MBE chamber, see my ex-department page), observed them with AFM (also tried to learn MFM), and finally performed optical measurements (photoluminescence) in cryogenic temperatures.

In 2008 at IF PAN in Warsaw (group SL3, supervisor prof. Jacek Kossut) I have finished my PhD: Periodic boundary conditions (PBC); their implementation and application in micromagnetism. Thesis (written unfortunately in , i.e. in Polish ;) ) can be found here. For non-scientists: I have written a short essay explaining this subject

OOMMF project at NIST

I have written an extension to the OOMMF simulation package.
My module allows inclusion of 1D PBC. A web page about it is here.
