Mr Andrzej Opala will join our group as a PhD student starting from 1 October.
Doubly Dressed Bosons
We demonstrated the existence of a new kind of a quantum quasiparticle, a boson made up of three qualitatively different excitations: semiconductor excitons, optical photons and terahertz photons. The research has been published in Physical Review Letters. The experiment was realized…
Interactive optomechanical coupling with nonlinear polaritonic systems
We study a system of interacting excitons strongly coupled to photons inside an optomechanical microcavity. The presence of the mechanical mode leads to an interactive type of optomechanical coupling, which is different from the dispersive and dissipative couplings in optomechanical…
Instability of an organic condensate
We report the first confirmation of long-sought dynamical instability of a polariton condensate. This work was conducted in collaboration with the experimental group of Prof. Stéphane Kéna-Cohen and Prof. Stefan A. Maier. This work has been published in ACS Photonics.
New member
Mr Paweł Miętki will join our group as a PhD student starting from 1 October.
PhD position available
A PhD position in our group funded by the National Science Centre is available. The deadline for applications is 1 June, 2016.
Collapse of a polariton condensate
Research conducted in a collaboration led by the group of Daniele Sanvitto was published in Nature Communications. We report a phenomenon unseen before: a real-space collapse of a polariton condensate in conditions of extreme intensities and ultrafast times.
