We demonstrated the existence of a new kind of a quantum quasiparticle, a boson made up of three qualitatively different excitations: semiconductor excitons, optical photons and terahertz photons.The research has been published in Physical Review Letters. The experiment was realized by Barbara Piętka and Jacek Szczytko group from the University of Warsaw in the free electron laser facility in Dresden.
