The village of Czarny Potok belongs to the city
Krynica (Kree-neet-sah) spa, located in Beskid Sadecki mountains in
the Southern part of Poland, about 60 km from Nowy Sacz (130 km East from
Kraków). The mountains surrounding the town become less rocky and
more heavily wooded comparing to the insofar Tatra mountains. The town is
famous for its excellent healing waters, which since 1793, it began to develop
as a health resort and it has remained so until today, giving back health
and strength to many thousands of people.
Krynica is also a place of many cultural, educational, sport and economic venues. In September, Krynica becomes capital of the opera and operetta, during the Jan Kiepura International Festival. Every year many local and international performances are organized for guests of the resort, including: the International Tourist Fair of Mountain Lands, a Classic Guitars Contest, Piano Master Course, various political and scientific seminars, international meetings of businesspeople and politicians, sidewalk paintings, chess competitions, and a variety of performances by artistic groups. |
