SCOPE OF SYNCRYS 2001

SYNCRYS 2001 is a satellite symposium to the European Crystallographic Meeting, ECM 20, organized in Krakow. SYNCRYS is organized as a "twin" event (harmonized in space and time) to another ECM 20 satellite meeting: Protein Crystallography Beyond 2000: High Throughput and High Quality , coupling this way SR crystallographic methods and its most important applications. Participants of both symposia will have opportunity to attend lectures of either one.

SYNCRYS will be focused on the following topics:
  1. Synchrotron crystallography: the origin and future
  2. New radiation sources
  3. Development of X-ray optics and detectors
  4. Modern diffraction techniques
  5. Challenging / new crystal structures
  6. Structural chemistry / structural biology
  7. Small angle scattering
  8. Imaging methods, X-ray holography
  9. Characterisation of materials including real structure by SR diffraction and spectroscopy
  10. Remote experiments, teletransmission
  11. New SR users policy, global cooperation

The scientific program of the Symposium includes invited general lectures, poster sessions and panel discussions. The Program Committee introduces a new presentation option called "invited original talk" addressed to the contributors who would like to present particularly interesting new results in a short lecture (not exceeding 20 min). The applicant for the "invited original talk" should submit, before 1 April 2001, a standard camera-ready abstract (see below) and, optionally, an extended abstract (not exceeding 2 pages). The submitted applications will be reviewed and qualified by the Program Committee. The winners of this competition, receiving the status of the "invited original talk" speakers, will be entitled to pay reduced participation costs. The deadline for submission of the abstracts (see below) of other contributed papers is 1 June 2001.

Here you can find the PAPER SUBMISSION FORM   Please, send it, after completing, to the  SYNCRYS ADDRESS
