Manuscripts, Presentations
Invited and accepted contributed papers will be published in a special issue of Acta Physica Polonica A (APPA). The papers will be subject to an internal review procedure of APPA.
Manuscripts (original + 1 copy + copyright transfer form), prepared according to the guide to authors of papers
(pdf version of guide is here)
in APPA, should be delivered to the conference office on the first day of the conference (i.e. Monday, June 21st, 2010). An electronic version of the manuscripts will be required after the
reviewing procedure is finished and authors will be asked to submit it online.
All the contributed papers should have character of short conference
communications and they must not exceed the length of three printed pages in the Acta Physica Polonica A.
There is no length restriction for invited papers.
Please
notice that APPA has recently switched to modern two-column layout of its publications (see a sample here).
According to APPA publication
procedure, the prepared manuscripts shouldn't be in camera ready
format. To help you estimate the length of the manuscript, we present
here few hints.
A guide to estimate the length of paper as it will appear in print
==================================================
Three printed pages of the new layout of Acta Physica Polonica A are
equivalent to about 10000 characters of text. This value excludes the
title, authors list with three different affiliations, about 250
characters long abstract and PACS numbers, all of these being
equivalent to about 3200 characters.
One column of two-column page consists of about 58 lines of text with
no formulas, figures nor tables. Each line of text in one column
consists of about 55 characters. Using formulas or tables, their
equivalent length in characters can be estimated individually using
formating for such column of text given above in word editor. Also, an
equivalent length of reference list should be estimated based on such
column's format.
One figure of square shape, positioned in a single column of printed
text, is equivalent to about 1400 characters including short caption.
Symbols on figures should be well-readable after reducing the size of
figure to fit into a single column.
Section titles mentioned in the APPA guide to authors of papers may be
omitted in short conference communications papers adopted by this
conference.
(Three printed pages in APPA with the new layout are roughly equivalent
to 4 old-layout pages used previously in the procedeengs of "Jaszowiec"
conferences. One page of old-layout contained approximately 42
lines with 80 characters per line.)
POSTER PRESENTATIONS

The exhibiting area of poster tables is 140 cm (height) x 115 cm (width).
ORAL PRESENTATIONS (invited & contributed)
======================================
A computer for presentations will be provided. The MS Office 2007 Power Point and Adobe Reader (Acrobat)
will be installed on the computer. The presentations should be
downloaded to the computer during the break before the beginning of the
session.
All speakers can use also their own laptops, if they prefer so. The
laptops should be installed (connected to the video switch provided by the organizers) also during the break before the start of the
session.
It is strongly recommended that you prepare clear slides with fonts not
smaller than 24 points. Otherwise your presentation can be unreadable
from the last rows of the lecture room.
